Timeline Presentation Day is the culminating celebration of the No Me Without Community unit, offering students a meaningful opportunity to share their personal timelines and reflect on their growth in identity, agency, and belonging. Grounded in Ethnic Studies and SEL, this lesson centers student voice, affirmation, and collective care.

Designed for grades 3–5, this 40-minute lesson (which may be repeated across multiple days) supports students in presenting timelines that highlight key moments, relationships, and community connections. Educators establish shared expectations for respectful audience behavior, emphasizing tone, body language, and thoughtful feedback as essential components of community care.

Students practice offering compliments, questions, and reflections using sentence frames that promote specificity and respect. Through Learning Log reflections, students articulate how their understanding of identity and community has evolved over the course of the unit—recognizing that identity is dynamic and nurtured through relationships.

The lesson closes with whole-class reflection, inviting students to consider how they will continue growing their identities within community beyond the unit.
