After organizing a week-long strike against the school and district for failing to address racial and sexual violence, BSU members and leaders are facing punitive measures, unsafe learning and working environments, and retaliatory grading. They are in urgent need of legal representation. WAESN is helping them create a legal fund. 100% of proceeds go directly to their legal representation. Youth Activist Academy Join WAESN July 6th – 20th 1:00 p.m. – 4:oo p.m. for our second Youth Activist Academy! Registration is open to youth ages 10-16 with limited availability. Scholarships and a sliding scale are available. Donations to support scholarships are appreciated. Enroll in our Professional Development Series We have developed an 18 hour professional learning series to prepare educators to teach Ethnic Studies available as nine virtual modules, facilitated by our Executive Director, Tracy Castro-Gill. Curriculum Coaching WAESN is proud to host virtual curriculum coaching designed to provide collaborative spaces for Ethnic Studies educators to dig deep into their practice. Join Our Round Table Conversations Each month WAESN hosts a special guest and has a round table conversation about the contents of each PD Module. Participants can engage in a Q & A. It’s a great way to introduce yourself or go deeper into the contents of the PD Series.
