Youth Power Lab
Ready to move beyond the sidelines? The Youth Power Lab is WAESN’s premier statewide initiative designed to turn lived experience into systemic power. This is a community-rooted leadership pipeline where young leaders get the mentorship, structural support, and professional tools needed to drive real policy change in Washington’s K–12 schools.
What’s In It For You?
-
Professional Mentorship: Get direct guidance from a dedicated Youth Coordinator and near-peer coaches—young educators who have already walked the walk.
-
High-Level Skill Building: Master the art of legislative testimony, community facilitation, digital literacy, and community-based research.
-
Real-World Influence: Don’t just talk about change—lead it. You’ll design community education sessions, organize statewide campaigns to counter misinformation, and influence state policy.
-
The Gear: Every student who completes the program walks away with a free laptop to keep their advocacy moving at full speed.
-
The Network: Get plugged into a coordinated network of youth-led organizations and intergenerational coalitions fighting for racial justice.
Join the lab. Build the power. Change the state.
