No FAIR! The State of Ethnic Studies in Seattle Public Schools

Join Washington Ethnic Studies Now (WAESN), the Southeast Seattle Education Coalition (SESEC), and the NAACP Youth Council (N-YC) for an urgent community webinar on the state of Ethnic Studies in Seattle Public Schools (SPS).
As our community continues to fight for an authentic, anti-racist curriculum, this webinar will provide critical updates on the current status of Ethnic Studies within SPS. We will discuss the threats posed by organizations like the Foundation Against Intolerance and Racism (FAIR), explain why authentic, intersectional Ethnic Studies is vital for our students, and outline concrete steps for how we can work together to protect and rebuild these programs.
This is a space for educators, families, students, and community members to come together, get informed, and organize for the education our students deserve.
Join us to:
- Understand the current landscape of Ethnic Studies in Seattle.
- Hear from experts on why authentic, anti-racist frameworks are non-negotiable.
- Learn how to effectively advocate for the restoration of an authentic program in SPS.
Registration is free. We look forward to seeing you there!
