  • continue to build background knowledge around activism
  • examine implicit and explicit ways systems oppress groups of people.
  • know how past and present movements and people have challenged systems of oppression.
  • determine possible central ideas

Learners will do this by:

watching and reflecting on a short video

  • reading, annotating, discussing and taking notes on a nonfiction text using reading roles
    writing a paragraph with a topic sentence, supporting details, analysis and elaboration around activism.
