• gain background knowledge around important historical references in THUG in order to comprehend the text.
• know that our knowledge of history impacts our identity, political movements, and cultural expressions.
• consider how movements of the past and present cultivate joy while fighting for justice.

Skills: students will be able to….

• use technology to research a specific person, event or movement.
• use group roles to read & take notes about their topic.
• present their research to the class.
• explain the role of specific activists and activisms to promote justice and how it relates to THUG.
