Learning Goals:

Learners will know:

  • why and how activism is powerful,
  • why activism matters,
  • what are some examples of injustice and how activists fight against them,
  • how activists can achieve their goals along with what types of support activist receive to help them on their journey to create positive change.

Learners will do this by:

  • reading and annotate texts for evidence that answers questions related to activism and
  • reading and annotate texts for evidence that contributes to the overall central idea of a text and across multiple texts
  • writing a response about the importance of protest by using evidence from their note taking sheets.
