Learning Goals:

Learners will:

  • know why and how activism is powerful
  • know why activism matters
  • know what some examples of injustice are and how activists fight against them
  • know how certain strengths or character traits help activists be successful and make positive change
  • know how activists can achieve their goals along with what types of support activists receive to help them on their journey to create positive change

Learners will do this by:

  • reading and annotating texts for evidence that answers questions related to activism
  • continuing to summarize and look for main and central ideas
  • comparing notes and ideas in small group discussion focusing on clarifying and negotiating
