– Students will learn the term “social issues” and begin to grasp what that category encompasses.
– Students will unpack what makes songwriting a uniquely powerful vehicle for addressing and responding to social issues.
– Students will begin reflecting on patterns in themes across lyrically liberating music, as well as how the process of songwriting can be healing and empowering.
