Learning Goals:
Learners will:
- discuss how unfairness, injustice, action, liberation and inspiration are related to their activism research topics.
- focus on implicit and explicit ways systems oppress groups of people.
- develop the topic for writing an informational paragraph about “the problem” with relevant well-chosen facts, definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples.
Learners will do this by:
- answering questions related to activism within their specific topic in small group discussion focusing on injustice and unfairness and/or action and liberation through clarifying and fortifying ideas.
- writing a topic sentence related to the problem or issue with sufficient clarity and context, supporting details to match and analysis and elaboration describing how the evidence connects to the topic sentence and why it matters.
